COVID-19 UPDATE – October 8, 2022

What can you expect when you next come to Moss Dental Studio? 

If you have been coming to see us for a while, you will know that much time and consideration was put into our COVID-19 protocols to ensure safety for our staff and patients.  We are pleased to be able to report zero known cases of transmission from our office to date. As we move into the current phase of the pandemic, the recommendations and requirements from the government and from our dental governing body have changed, and the protocols at Moss Dental Studio reflect that. 

Here is a summary of what is new & the same:

  • Continued daily screening of staff and patients

  • Continued promise of an uncrowded office

  • Continued 1 patient per time slot per provider

  • Continued adherence to our strict disinfection protocols in the clinical areas & cleaning of the common areas

  • Masking: Continued masking of all clinical and non-clinical staff.  A request for patients to wear a mask in the common areas, unless they are the only patients present

  • Elimination of the biosafety fee

  • Elimination of the buffer times between patients

A CLEAN, MINIMALIST OFFICE WITHOUT THE CROWDS

  • Enter from the street – no elevator or medical building to contend with

  • As always, nearly all of our communication, patient charting, billing, and payments are paperless

PRE-APPOINTMENT HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE

  • All patients need to fill out this questionnaire prior to each and every appointment and confirm their answers have not changed upon arrival at the studio.

PATIENT ARRIVAL

  • Patients need to arrive alone or with a pre-approved companion at the designated appointment time (not earlier or later)

  • Making is recommended. If there are others present in the reception area when you arrive, we kindly ask that you wear a mask

  • All patients will be guided to the hand washing station upon arrival

  • Patients will be asked to swish with an oral pre-rinse once seated in their treatment room

 PAYMENT OPTIONS, FEES & PATIENT DEPARTURE

  • Credit cards, debit cards and e-transfers will continue to be accepted. We will not be accepting cash for the time being

  • A biosafety fee that was previously being charged, has now been eliminated

  • Cancellation Policy: A fee of $300/hour of chair time booked will be charged for any appointments missed without providing 48 hours notice unless the reason for the missed appointment is health related. Clinic time is precious right now. Thank you for understanding

ONE PATIENT PER TIME SLOT.

  • We have always prided ourselves on creating a private setting for our patients. We do not hop back and forth from patient to patient but instead we give each patient our undivided attention. Staying with one, single patient from start to finish also eliminates the opportunity for cross-contamination between patients.

ENHANCED INFECTION CONTROL & OFFICE CLEANING PROTOCOL

  • We will continue to adhere to our strict disinfection protocols in the clinical areas

  • Protocols are in place to minimize or eliminate airborne aerosols during dental procedures

  • Treatment rooms are disinfected after each

  • Common areas, and washroom are cleaned frequently throughout the day

WE LOOK A LITTLE DIFFERENT THESE DAYS

  • For everyone’s safety, our receptionist will continue to wear a mask, and our clinical team will continue to wear our enhanced PPE outfit

TEAM TRAINING & HEALTH CHECKS

  • Your care providers at Moss Dental Studio update themselves daily on the current recommendations by the various government and regulatory bodies on how to deliver patient care in a manner that is safe for both us and you, our patients

  • We, your care providers, will be taking the health questionnaire daily and will not attend work if we are unwell

  • Daily staff meetings to review our protocol and discuss how we can improve our patient’s experience while in our care

 TOP OF THE LINE PATIENT CARE

  • Yes, there will be a lot of changes at the Studio, but one thing that has not changed is our absolute commitment to providing the best care possible to our patients, in a most comfortable setting
